Ingredients needed for preparing Manoharam
1 kilo Besan / Gram flour
1 1/2 kilo rice flour
1/2 kilo jaggery
1 kilo Oil for deep frying Manoharam
 a pinch of Salt – 1 pinch

How to prepare Manoharam, a traditional sweet of Kerala ?
Mix both rice flour and the besan together with a pinch of salt. Sieve them together to combine them nicely.
Add enough water to prepare a thick dough like Murukku dough.
Heat oil in a deep fry pan  squeeze the mixture through a Murukku maker. Squeeze the dough as straight and long pieces instead of round Murukkus. Deep fry those pieces and remove them when they are golden.
Melt the jaggery in a pan by adding a little water and bring it to boil.
Keep stirring continuously  till it attains a one thread consistency. Remove from fire and let cool.
Break the fried pieces in to small bits and put them inside the hot and melted jaggery.Remove when the jaggery gets coated all over the pieces.
Store in an airtight container when cool.
